What a load of crap. The IRS does not try very hard to provide service. IRS employees are incredibly incompetent, arrogant and contemptuous of the those thy should becserving. There is little to no oversight of these worthless human beings as they continue to abuse the American taxpayer.

The Tax Payer Advocate Office refused to help me. I am due a $2,600.00 refund, and was told it could take up to 9 weeks to be deposited into my checking account, so I MIGHT get it by the end of June. My story: I filed my return January 31, 2016 electronically, and received a letter dated March 2, stating the IRS needed I.D. verification. My wife went online March 6 and completed the verification process, and we received confirmation that they received the submission. At that time the confirmation stated it could take 6 weeks for processing. I called back April 18, and was told they never received the required info, so I went through the process again. Now I'm told it could take another 9 weeks for processing my return! I am receiving doctor bills and need the refund to pay those bills. I was told to call the TAS for help. I was told by the TAS rep that the ONLY way they'd help is if I received a utility company shutoff notice, or a foreclosure notice. My inability to pay bills doesn't count, and too bad if I receive collection dept. letters and phone calls. Nobody wants to help me, and because the IRS is so powerful, I was told by various IRS reps that NOTHING can be done about it!

How long should an individual wait for a determination by the IRS or resolve an issue?

who do you get help from when tas in nc fails you and you have a case but the case worker nor her managers will return any of your calls? what good is an advocacy service that won’t advocate? tas has had my case for 3 months and i can’t even get ansupervisor to return my voicemails after two months of my case worker not returning my voicemails i’m a single mom who can’t even get the advocate service to call me back now that they’ve been helping me since Four Two Zero One Eight it’s end Seven Two Zero One Eight my return was accepted by irs One Two Nine Two Zero One Eight due to eic my refund was scheduled late feb when i hadn’t received by mid april i contacted tas when i was assigned a case worker they promised to give me a letter for my landlord and after reviewing my return told me i’d have my refund by june 2018 all this because i tried to claim some income i made the irs would have never known about while tying to be honest but did it incorrectly as it was so little $ it should have been considered a hobby after months of my case worker at the nc tas not calling me back after repeated vm i got the supervisors ’s and have left vms for weeks with them and have not gotten any returned calls i’ve had my water shut off for three months, lost my car,, and have just been served with an eviction notice after my landlord helped me after seeing that the irs and tas has basically abandoned me these are items that my tax refund typically helps me with each year, money rightfully mine i paid to the irs throughout 2017 even without the eic assistance, the money i paid to the government i’m entitled to receive back would have kept me from having to rely on for neighbors for water and showers and would have kept me up to date on car payments the tax protection act fails the people it is intended to protect and the one single group, tas that’s supposed to help won’t even return calls once your case is assigned a worker and the items like a letter for my landlord i was told i’d receive ive never gotten it’s almost like tas has used my case as a statistical number just to justify their existence because they’ve literally been no help at all the irs said they are now caison the delay that had i not opened a case i would have received my refund in may
so who do you complain to about tas since they are who i begged and pleaded for help with, when the irs received my january 2018 accepted tax return? a couple thousand dollars may not be allot to some people but it would saved our home, kept my water on, and prevented me
from now having to have taken a third job just to make ends meet

i done be tried to get help from them at that tas advocat services in too and you right they dont care and they don't be helping thay aint return no telephone calls and the supervisor man he aint call back neither i went to all the places in here in durham, nc that be local and they all say call them advocate off8ices because i guess when you do then the people at irs can't help no more i done got my refund in june though but i aint file to march and you saying you done file in the first of the year? sorryit what it do boo i feel for you and them children but good luck and pray that what i do girl pray all you can do
